Showering & bathing
Showering with an ostomy can be done with the pouching system on or off.
There are no restrictions; however, if using soap near the stoma, be sure to wash it off to ensure pouch adherence.
It is best to keep the pouch on to prevent stool or urine from contaminating the bathwater when bathing.
